Our story
From a letting agency to a platform
The brainchild of Colin Napper and Andreas Riha. Founded in January 2011, with offices in Dublin and London, Rentview is a rent and property management platform for the letting industry — a trusted marketplace for letting agents, property managers, landlords and renters to manage their rental portfolio. Rentview allows agents to manage, build and retain their rental portfolio, helping to streamline and automate everyday tasks.
Landlords can access important information shared by their agents through Rentview, improving the overall customer-service experience. For tenants, Rentview speeds up the letting process by giving them the opportunity to set up a tenant profile and application, so they can share access quickly with agents.
Founders' background
Rentview's roots are woven deep into the soil of north Dublin. The seeds were first planted when two friends decided the route to success and contentment could be found only by pursuing their goal to start their own letting agency. After two years in business, with their workload expanding, they secured a humble first-floor office on Dorset Street in Dublin — and the company began to blossom.
Development roadmap
With the aim of simplifying everyday tasks and adding transparency and accountability to the lettings industry, they began liaising with clients and potential users. From this — and their own hands-on experience — an MVP was developed and tested with local letting agents. In November 2011, using their new beta product, they could manage a portfolio of over 600 lets per annum, upsell landlords to full property management, view accounts and payments, and connect utilities — all with one tool.
Focus on renters
In 2014 we decided to focus on helping renters beginning the search for a property. We spoke to hundreds of renters, observed the trends in the lettings market, and built a software platform renters can use to secure rental properties faster by connecting with local agents.

- 2004
Early days, pre-Rentview
In the cramped environs of a garden shed, powered by the will to succeed, Colin and Andreas used their experience in sales and IT to start and develop Dublin Letting into one of the largest independent letting agencies in Dublin.
- 2005
Dorset Street — moved offices
They secured a humble first-floor office on Dorset Street in Dublin. From here the company really began to blossom.
- 2006
High-street agents — Smithfield, Dublin
Dublin Letting moved to the newly regenerated Smithfield area on the Liffey in the heart of Dublin City. With 1,000 newly built apartments on its doorstep, the move allowed the company to grow and become a household name in the lettings industry.
- 2008
Rentcollectors set up
We developed a rent-management tool to help our agency manage rental payments for our growing management portfolio. It processed over €4.5 million in rental payments and gave landlords online access to their rent statements.
- Sept 2011
Early days — Rentview
We decided to focus on developing software for the lettings industry. From the success of our rent-management tool, we saw other agents could benefit from a tool to manage their rental portfolio.
- 2012
Sold Dublin Letting — focus on Rentview
The time had come to sell Dublin Letting. The two friends were now fully available to nurture their prospering Rentview business, with the aim of building an international company.
- Jan 2013
Brand new offices
Well on its way to becoming a mighty oak, Rentview served 10% of the Irish market and moved its headquarters to the Docklands in Dublin.

Rentview renter profile — for renters
We launched the Rentview renter profile, giving renters a faster, connected way to secure a property.

A growing team, reaching beyond Ireland
Our team of developers, marketing, sales and customer service now look beyond the Irish Sea to London in the UK, implementing a fresh approach to managing rental properties.
